Frequently asked questions

Which devices can scan objects?

Shaped-insert scanning requires an iPhone or iPad with a LiDAR scanner (for example iPhone Pro models). On other devices the scan option explains that LiDAR is required; baseplates, bins and export work on every supported device.

Which file should I export?

Choose 3MF for Bambu Studio and most modern slicers; For the Bambu Lab H2C with PLA, FitGrid also includes ready Bambu Studio project settings. Choose STL for any other slicer.

My baseplate is larger than my print bed.

Turn on Connect pieces. FitGrid splits the plate into pieces that fit your selected printer’s bed and adds Dovetail joints so they lock together.

Will prints fit my existing Gridfinity bins?

FitGrid follows the standard 42 mm Gridfinity grid with 7 mm height units. Printer calibration and filament affect fit, so print a small test piece first for large drawers.
